Start Here

Read the Syllabus. It lives in the Syllabus tab on the left navigation. Read the whole thing. It covers grading, point totals, and course policies you will need all semester.

Check your tech. You need a reliable internet connection, a modern browser (Chrome or Firefox work best), a webcam, and a microphone. If something is missing, sort it out now rather than the night before an assignment.

Set up your Canvas profile and notifications. Add a photo, update your contact info, and turn on notifications so you never miss an announcement. Links for both are in the Canvas Resources section below.

Look through the module pages. Browse the Modules tab to see how the course is organized. Each module has its own overview page, readings, and assignments.

Post your introduction in VoiceThread #1. This is your first graded activity. Record a short video or audio intro so we can put a voice to your name. Details and the link are inside Module 1.

Every assignment shows up here. Sync it with your phone calendar so deadlines do not sneak up on you.

Canvas can text or email you when grades are posted, announcements go out, or assignment details change. Set this up on day one.

Start early

Waiting until Sunday night is a recipe for bad work and worse stress. Give yourself time to think, revise, and ask questions.
